Receiver Devin Lucien has been the early standout among the incoming freshman class so far in fall camp. He's shown athletic ability, speed, good hands, the ability to separate from defenders and an aggressive approach toward going after balls in the air. If he gets the playbook down, he's a shoo-in to get plenty of playing time this season.
"He has to show he can pick up all the scheme," said Mike Johnson, the offensive coordinator and receivers coach. "As we get through our sixth, seventh installations, his head is going to swim a little bit. But if he shows he can handle that, he's doing a good job making plays."
