For a few seconds, forget about the disappointing season the UCLA men's basketball team is having. Forget about the 10 conference losses. Forget about the Bruins' slim chances of winning the Pacific 10 Conference tournament next week.
UCLA's other basketball team has had itself quite a season.
The women's squad beat Arizona 70-61 at Pauley Pavilion in the regular-season finale on Saturday to improve its overall record to 22-7 and 15-3 in conference play. While coach Ben Howland's No. 5-seeded team is slated to play No. 4 seed Arizona on Thursday at the Staples Center, coach Nikki Caldwell's crew clinched the No. 2 seed in the women's conference tournament and should get an automatic bid to go dancing in March.
