Offensive lineman Jeff Baca returned to practice with the team this week after sitting out all but one day of spring practice and all of training camp while recovering from a broken ankle that required surgery.
Baca sat out all of last season because of academic ineligibility and practiced sparingly because of a stress fracture in his foot. A 13-game starter in 2009 and an eight-game starter in 2008, he may be available to play Saturday against San Jose State.
