CORVALLIS, Ore.--UCLA safety Tony Dye is out of the starting lineup and is not expected to play in the Bruin's Pac-12 opener at Oregon State, a school spokesman said.

Dye, a team captain and the team leader in tackles last season, had made 28 consecutive starts before Saturday. He has been nursing stingers and has not practiced all week.

Redshirt freshman Tevin McDonald has replaced Dye in the starting lineup. It will be McDonald's first career start.
