Baseball drops to No. 5 in latest poll

By Blair Angulo

UCLA's reign atop the Baseball America weekly collegiate rankings was short lived.

The Bruins (27-5) dropped two of three at home to Oregon over the weekend and as a result, slipped to the No. 5 slot in the weekly poll. Oregon (23-12) benefited from it, moving into the rankings for the first time ever and coming in at No. 18.

The Pac-10 Conference race is sure to heat up in the next few weeks. No. 1 Arizona State (31-3), No. 15 California (22-11), No. 17 Arizona (26-9) and No. 22 Stanford (18-13) round out the other ranked Pac-10 programs.

UCLA hosts Long Beach State (15-16) on Tuesday before traveling to Tucson, Ariz. for a weekend set against the Wildcats.
