Mora says USC receivers among best of all time
By Peter Yoon
LOS ANGELES -- For the second consecutive day, UCLA Bruins coach Jim Mora was singing the praises of the USC Trojans offense Wednesday, and this time he took it a step further.
After saying Tuesday that he would need NFL players Andre Johnson and Brandon Marshall at practice to accurately to emulate USC receivers Marqise Lee and Robert Woods, he placed the USC duo into the college football pantheon.
“Their caliber of receiver is about as high as you can get in America in my opinion,” Mora said. “This is the best group of receivers -- people say I’m overstating this -- but it’s as good as you’ll find in college football. I’d put it up against any of all time. Michael Irvin won’t want to hear me saying that but I put it up against any of all time.”
Lee leads the nation with 98 receptions and 1,447 receiving yards. Woods has 61 catches for 653 yards -- numbers that rank No. 3 and No. 9 in the Pac-12 Conference. Last year against UCLA, the two had a combined 25 catches for 337 yards and four touchdowns in a 50-0 USC victory.
