The home stretch
Here's the latest on the eve of national signing day:
-- The tug-of-war between UCLA and USC continues. Jon Gold of the Los Angeles Daily News is reporting that linebacker Hayes Pullard (Los Angeles, Calif./Crenshaw) is favored to sign with USC after being a sure thing for UCLA. Apparently, Pullard was turned off by former USC linebackers coach Ken Norton Jr.'s exit to Seattle but a visit over the weekend got him back on board. We'll know for sure Wednesday, when Pullard announces his decision live on CBS/KCAL at 5:30 p.m locally. So far, UCLA has three verbal commitments from linebackers while USC has none.
-- Like Pullard, a number of UCLA prospects will make their choices known on live television. Defensive back Dietrich Riley (La Canada, Calif./St. Francis) is set to choose between UCLA and USC at 1:30 pm on ESPNU. UCLA's coaching staff will know about defensive tackle Ricky Heimuli (Salt Lake City, Utah/Brighton) early, as he will announce at 9:30 a.m. on ESPNU. Five-star defensive end Owamagbe Odighizuwa (Portland, Ore./Douglas) will also make his college choice on ESPNU. Cornerback Anthony Jefferson (Los Angeles, Calif./Cathedral) will announce on Prime Ticket at noon. All times are pacific. Click here for the link to ESPNU's signing day show, which will air live on ESPN360.com.
-- The official UCLA Athletics website will also provide a live feed from inside the J.D. Morgan Center beginning at 7:30 a.m. Please note that a one-month subscription to UCLA All-Access is required.
