UCLA: Samantha Camuso

The UCLA softball team had a year to think about the embarrassment of not living up to expectations.

A year to both reflect and forget about its early exit as the NCAA Tournament's No. 2 overall seed, a year to get motivated and a year to grow.

A year later, the Bruins are heading to Oklahoma City for the Women's College World Series. No. 5-seeded UCLA booked its trip by sweeping Louisiana-Lafayette, 10-2 Saturday and 10-1 Sunday, in the Super Regional round at its own Easton Stadium.

Sophomore Samantha Camuso's fifth-inning grand slam to straightaway center all but sealed UCLA's clinching victory on Sunday, giving the Bruins a comfortable 8-1 lead with Pac-10 player of the year Megan Langenfeld on the mound.

The Bruins wound up with six home runs in the two Super Regional contests and hit .460 (23-for-50) as a team.

UCLA, which makes its 24th World Series appearance, matches up against No. 4 Florida at 12:30 PT on Thursday.
