USC can sign 15 players this year as part of its 2012 recruiting class. It's likely the Trojans will ink all 15 of those players on Signing Day, although there is a possibility they could hold off on a player or two to save space for a last-second top prospect.

Position by position, let's delve into who will make up that 15-man list, including the eight prospects already committed, with assistance from ESPN Recruiting, Rivals and Scout. We'll do the offense Saturday and the defense Sunday.

Quarterback

USC is not seriously recruiting any signal-callers. The Trojans have three scholarship quarterbacks on the roster with three or more years of eligibility remaining.

Running back

This is probably the Trojans' biggest position of need after Amir Carlisle left to Notre Dame and George Farmer switched back to receiver.

Curtis McNeal is the clear-cut No. 1 and D.J. Morgan will back him up, but Javorious Allen is the only other scholarship player on the roster. Jahleel Pinner (Mission Viejo, Calif./Mission Viejo) is committed and expected to sign, but he's more of a fullback than a running back.

It's a near-guarantee USC will sign another running back in the 15. Arizona prep athlete D.J. Foster, who dropped USC during his senior season but is now reconsidering, could be the player the Trojans pick up.

Fullback

Pinner is likely to start his USC career as a fullback, so he'll fill the need here. Plus, the Trojans already have redshirt freshman Soma Vainuku and Simione Vehikite also available.

Receiver

This is where it really gets interesting, as the team's depth here isn't too great either but the sheer talent level is quite good. Robert Woods, Marqise Lee and Farmer are just about locked in as the top trio for next season, but Woods is a guaranteed 2013 first-rounder and Lee probably a 2014 first-rounder.

What that means: Recruits won't play much right away but will have the opportunity to play a lot in their later years. Darreus Rogers (Carson, Calif/Carson) is committed to USC and visited last week but is visiting Arizona State over the weekend. He has been part of the Trojans' plans for quite a while.

The other big-time prospect who could come is Nelson Agholor (Tampa, Fla./Berkeley Prep). He's a speedster who some sources have as a five-star prospect, and he's reportedly set to visit USC next week.

Tight end

USC has four tight ends with at least three years of eligibility remaining in Xavier Grimble, Randall Telfer, Christian Thomas and Junior Pomee. But the Trojans continue to recruit another player in the position in Jalen Cope-Fitzpatrick (Rocklin, Calif./Whitney), who some rank as the No. 1 tight end in the country.

He's visiting USC this weekend.

Offensive tackle

Max Tuerk (Santa Margarita, Calif./Santa Margarita) is committed already, and Chad Wheeler (Santa Monica, Calif./Santa Monica) is already on campus as an early enrollee.

But this is still a big target spot, starting with Kyle Murphy (San Clemente, Calif./San Clemente), Andrus Peat (Tempe, Ariz./Corona Del Sol) and Zach Banner (Lakewood, Wash./Lakes).

It's pretty clear USC is counting on at least one of those three to sign on Feb. 1. Predictions on who it will be vary based on who you talk to. But Peat visited last week and Murphy and Banner are visiting this week.

Offensive guard

Jordan Simmons (Encino, Calif./Crespi) has been committed to the Trojans since October, picking them over Oregon. No other offers to offensive guard prospects have been recorded, and USC appears to already have its starters of the future there in Marcus Martin and Cyrus Hobbi.

Center

This isn't a huge need position, considering the Trojans will have Giovanni Di Poalo available at the spot once Khaled Holmes leaves following the 2012 season and Cody Temple as another option. But USC has still recruited Oregon State commit Isaac Seumalo heavily and had him on campus last week.

He could be a late switch.
