Lee in Iowa for NCAA track nationals
By Pedro Moura
USC star receiver Marqise Lee is in Iowa this week for the 2012 NCAA track and field national championships in Des Moines.
Lee was one of eight USC men to qualify in track and field categories. He'll be competing in the long jump Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. PT, with results available here shortly afterward.
USC is ranked ninth overall as a men's team and 14th for the women. Other notable track athletes to qualify include sprinter Bryshon Nellum and Pac-12 100-meter champion Aaron Brown.
The other football Trojans who did track and field this season -- Nickell Robey, Abe Markowitz, D.J. Morgan and Tony Burnett -- did not qualify for nationals.
Lee came in second in the California prep state meet last year while at Gardena Serra. His 24-8 high school best was third in the nation among preps in 2011.
