USC athletic director Mike Garrett talked with reporters about the Pete Carroll as he walked to his car this evening.
He declined to comment on the majority of questions, but when asked about the future of USC athletics, he spoke up.
"I don't think SC falls down," Garrett said, raising his voice. "We're too good. We do things well.
"We've produced a lot of excellent student athletes. I don't think that will stop."
Garrett did not utter a word when asked — multiple times — if he had spoken to Carroll.
But he said he was prepared in the case that reports lining up Carroll to Seattle were true.
"I always have lists of possible replacements for head coaches in all of our sports," Garrett said. "We always prepare for a vacancy."
