Halftime: USC 32, Washington 24
By Pedro Moura
What's up with Dwight Lewis?
Whatever it is, it's working.
Through 20 minutes of play, Lewis has a game-high 16 points on only 10 shots so far in this one, and USC leads Washington 32-24 at the break at Edmundson Pavilion in Seattle.
The Trojans were down 8-2 three minutes in before coach Kevin O'Neill called a quick timeout. From there, USC went on a mini-run to take a 14-12 lead.
Washington proceeded to tie the score at 15-15, but Lewis and Marcus Johnson themselves outscored Washington 18-9 in the final eight minutes of the half.
Forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning leads the Huskies with six points. He and guard Isaiah Thomas (five points) are the only two Washington players to shoot better than 50 percent in the first half. As a whole the Huskies are shooting just 39 percent from the field.
USC is shooting 44 percent.
