Harris continues to sit out

By Pedro Moura

Cornerback Torin Harris hasn't suited up for the Trojans in more than a month, and it doesn't look like he will be anytime soon.

The redshirt sophomore continues to sit out of practices with a nerve issue in his shoulder. It's kept him sidelined since the Arizona State game as USC shuffled Anthony Brown and now Isiah Wiley into his starting spot to supplant him.

"They test it every day, but they cannot clear him until the nerves fire, and for whatever reason they’re not," Trojans coach Lane Kiffin said Wednesday. "There’s nothing he can do to help it. It either comes back or it doesn’t."

That last part is in reference to Harris' season. If he doesn't return soon, it'd make sense to just shut him down for the team's final five games and have him get an early start on getting right for spring practice.

USC's season ends a month from today.

Harris has already had issues with his shoulder, undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum last offseason. With all of the USC corners returning next season, he'd likely want to have the opportunity to participate in spring practice so he doesn't fall too far behind in the race.
