USC receiver Marqise Lee was a late addition to the Biletnikoff Award watch list Wednesday, one day after the rest of the list's release.
Lee, a sophomore, was initially left off the list for unknown reasons. It's commonly perceived that some preseason watch lists do not recognize freshmen or sophomores, but the Biletnikoff has no such provision. And Lee's teammate, Robert Woods, was on the list as a sophomore in 2011.
"The Foundation includes an exclusive group of receivers on the Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List," foundation selection chairman Ritchie Pickron said in a statement released Wednesday. "It is apparent, upon further consideration, that Marqise Lee should be on the watch list. Accordingly, he has been added today."
As a freshman last year, Lee put up 73 catches for 1,143 yards and 11 touchdowns. He's thought to be a potential challenger for the Biletnikoff this season.
