Dolphins report: Patterson, Misi practice

DAVIE, Fla. -- Coming off a short week, the Miami Dolphins began their preparation Wednesday for the San Diego Chargers.

Here are some notes and observations from practice:

  • The Dolphins saw two defensive players return on Wednesday in starting cornerback Dimitri Patterson (groin) and linebacker Koa Misi (knee). Both players missed Monday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Both players didn't look 100 percent but did some team and individual drills.

  • The only person who wasn’t present and is on the active roster was right tackle Jonathan Martin, who left the team on Oct. 28 and hasn’t returned.

  • Dolphins team president and CEO Tom Garfinkel watched and attended practice on Wednesday.

  • Dolphins safety Jordan Kovacs is back on the practice squad. Miami cut Kovacs before the Monday game and he cleared waivers.
