Morning take: Scouting Jonathan Martin

November, 15, 2013
Here are the most interesting Miami Dolphins stories Friday from around the web:
  • Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports the Dolphins had no warning of embattled right tackle Jonathan Martin being soft or mentally fragile before the draft.
Morning take: It’s hard to determine if the Dolphins whiffed on Martin or Miami’s football culture ruined him. Perhaps it’s a combination of the two.
  • The Sun Sentinel went through a collection of Martin’s tweets to get a look into his personality
Morning take: Martin comes off as a bit awkward at times, but that should be fine in most walks of life. For whatever reason, he didn’t fit in Miami’s locker room.
  • Hal Habib of the Palm Beach Post says Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers is a must-win for the Dolphins.
Morning take: It's an elimination game of sorts in the AFC. The loser has virtually no shot of making the playoffs.
  • Ricky Henne from the Chargers team site takes a look at key matchups against the Dolphins.
Morning take: It is all about slowing down Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers if you are Miami's defense. Rivers is on a torrid pace this year, and the Dolphins’ defense has been hit or miss.
