Mike Pouncey hints at return

Miami Dolphins starting center Mike Pouncey put on Twitter that he’s feeling healthier following gallbladder issues.

Pouncey tweeted “Back 2 life” on his verified account, which is an indication that he could try to return this week. The Dolphins will practice Wednesday afternoon in preparation for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.

If Pouncey cannot make it back by Sunday, the versatile Nate Garner will start at center and former practice-squad player Sam Brenner will start at guard.

Miami (5-5), which has won two of its past three games, needs to beat Carolina (7-3) to retain a strong standing in the AFC playoff hunt. The Dolphins currently trail the New York Jets (5-5) (because of a tiebreaker) for the final wild-card spot in the conference.
