DAVIE, Fla. -- The Miami Dolphins (5-5) continued their preparation for the Carolina Panthers (7-3) Wednesday.

Here are some notes from practice:
  • Starting center Mike Pouncey (illness) returned to the Dolphins, as expected. Pouncey hinted on Twitter earlier Wednesday that he was rejoining the team. However, Pouncey did not participate in any individual or team drills during the portion of practice open to the media.
  • Pouncey also looked a little lighter, in my opinion. He’s been away from the team for more than a week due to a gallbladder issues.
  • With Pouncey out, Miami used the same starting offensive line during the portion of practice open to the media. Sam Brenner was the first-team left guard, while Nate Garner moved to center.
  • Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland attended Wednesday’s practice and watched closely. Ireland is on the hot seat and needs Miami to make a playoff run to maintain job security.
