Miami morning take: Brent Grimes shines

November, 22, 2013
Here are the most interesting Miami Dolphins stories Friday from around the Web:
  • Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald writes Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes is making his mark.
Morning take: Grimes has been a tremendous pickup for the Dolphins. He will be a free agent in 2014 and should be the team’s highest offseason priority.
  • Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post writes Dolphins defensive tackles Paul Soliai and Randy Starks also are playing for contracts.
Morning take: The Dolphins are expected to keep one. Soliai is the better fit due to his ability to stuff the run. Starks most likely will get his money elsewhere next year.
  • Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel says it’s time for the Dolphins to start over if they don’t go 9-7.
Morning take: It could be playoffs or bust for some in Miami’s organization. General manager Jeff Ireland certainly is in the hot seat after spending $100 million in guaranteed money to put this team together. These final weeks are crucial.
  • Andy Cohen of from the Dolphins team website writes Miami must play its best game of the season to beat the Carolina Panthers (7-3).
Morning take: Carolina is the hottest team in the league and a bad matchup for Miami. But the Dolphins have enough talent to make this game interesting. But I’m still picking the Panthers to win.
