Here are the most interesting Miami Dolphins stories Tuesday from around the web:
  • Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald writes the odds favor the Dolphins (7-6) to make the playoffs.
Morning take: The biggest competition is the Baltimore Ravens (7-6), who own the head-to-head tiebreaker. But Miami has an easier schedule, which should set up for an interesting finish.
  • Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel writes about tailback Lamar Miller’s availability against the New England Patriots.
Morning take: Miller suffered a concussion against the Pittsburgh Steelers and must pass all the tests to get back on the field. Backup Daniel Thomas filled in admirably with 105 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Morning take: Thomas was expected to miss more time with an ankle injury. But Miami offensive coordinator Mike Sherman put it best: Thomas played like he was 100 percent even when he wasn’t.
Morning take: New England comes to Miami wounded without Rob Gronkowski, Vince Wilfork or Jerod Mayo. That provides no excuses for the Dolphins, who are out to prove they have closed the gap.
