Dolphins practice report: Thomas returns

DAVIE, Fla. – After taking Christmas off, the Miami Dolphins returned to practice Thursday in preparation for the New York Jets.

Here are some notes from practice:

  • Miami got some good news Thursday when backup tailback Daniel Thomas practiced for the first time this week. Thomas rested his injured ankle on Tuesday. But it appears he’s trying to make it back for Sunday’s game. It appears it will be all hands on deck for Sunday’s game against the Jets.

  • As expected, Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill (knee) was full-go in the portion of practice open to the media. But Tannehill did wear a sleeve on his left knee. Tannehill was injured in last weekend’s 19-0 loss to the Buffalo Bills. He sat out one series but returned to the game.

  • There were no major changes on Miami’s starting offensive line during the portion of practice open to the media. Nate Garner is getting reps again at guard in place of Sam Brenner. It remains to be seen if that sticks. The Dolphins allowed seven sacks against Buffalo.
