It's never too early to talk NFL draft, and ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. is ahead of the curve with his first mock draft of the offseason.
Kiper predicts the Miami Dolphins will select Alabama offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio with the No. 19 overall pick in May. This is a huge position of need for Miami, which allowed a franchise-record 58 quarterbacks sacks last season. Miami's running game also stalled and was ranked 26th in the NFL.
The pick makes sense for the Dolphins. They have a pair of free-agent starters in offensive tackles Tyson Clabo and Bryant McKinnie. There is a good chance one or both will not return. Second-year offensive tackle Jonathan Martin also was in the middle of a bullying scandal last season and is expected to be traded or released.
The Dolphins need a major makeover on the offensive line, and drafting Kouandjio in the first round could be a solid start in the right direction.
