ESPN.com’s Miami Dolphins page continues to examine the roster heading into free agency.

Next up, we take a look at Miami’s secondary.

Under contract in 2014: S Reshad Jones, CB Dimitri Patterson, CB Jamar Taylor, CB Will Davis, CB Jalil Brown, S Jimmy Wilson, CB Don Jones, S Michael Thomas

Free agents: CB Brent Grimes, CB Nolan Carroll, S Chris Clemons, CB R.J. Stanford, Justin Rogers

Analysis: Miami has some big decisions to make in their secondary. Two starters – Grimes and Clemons – are unrestricted free agents. Carroll also was a part-time starter this past season and is an unrestricted free agent. Re-signing Grimes is a no-brainer. He had arguably the best season of his career and qualified for his second Pro Bowl. But Grimes won’t come cheap. It will be important for Taylor and Davis, two top draft picks from 2013, to develop in their second year. That could save Miami the trouble of signing an expensive veteran at cornerback. Clemons is replaceable at safety.

Walker’s stability meter (1 to 10, 10 being most stable): 3
