Morning take: Knowshon Moreno factor

Here are the most interesting Miami Dolphins stories Friday from around the Web:

  • Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post writes new running back Knowshon Moreno will be a factor for the Dolphins.

Morning take: Moreno helps in several areas where the Dolphins are weak. Pass protection, short yardage, and catching out the backfield, just to name a few.

  • Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports a trade will be discussed for Philadelphia Eagles guard Evan Mathis.

Morning take: The Dolphins need linemen and Mathis is on the trading block. It probably will come down to asking price.

  • Bucky Brooks of NFL.com does a re-do of the 2005 NFL draft and selects Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake No. 11 overall.

Morning take: This is interesting because Wake went undrafted in 2005 and had to start in the CFL. Sometimes the scouting process completely whiffs on players.

  • Dolphins general manager Dennis Hickey talks about the roster via the team's website.

Morning take: Hickey, a first-year general manager, has made some solid moves so far. But we won’t know for certain until games are played in September.
