Morning take: Dolphins linebackers

Here are the most interesting Miami Dolphins stories Wednesday from around the Web:
  • Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel looks at how the Dolphins can upgrade at linebacker.
Morning take: The Dolphins have invested long-term contracts into Dannell Ellerbe, Philip Wheeler and Koa Misi. Miami may have to make this trio work for at least another year.
  • Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports the Dolphins could still take a running back in the fourth or fifth round.
Morning take: The Dolphins signed Knowshon Moreno to be the projected starter and have others such as Lamar Miller, Daniel Thomas and Mike Gillislee. However, if an intriguing prospect is available in the middle or late rounds, it’s possible the Dolphins could add another tailback to the mix.
  • Andy Kent of the Dolphins’ team site writes the honeymoon period has begun for new guard Shelley Smith.
Morning take: Smith is entering the season as the projected starter. But he will have to produce to win and keep Miami’s starting guard spot.
  • Josh Sanchez of Sports Illustrated looks into the possibility of Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino joining the Dolphins.
Morning take: Marino should have a role with the team. But an agreement that fits both parties must be reached. The Dolphins already have football people in place.
