The 2014 season is a big one for many within the Miami Dolphins' organization. Head coach Joe Philbin is just 15-17 in his first two years in Miami and first-year general manager Dennis Hickey is out to prove he can put together a roster worthy of the playoffs.

But Miami’s journey will begin in the preseason. Here is the Dolphins' full 2014 preseason schedule:
  • Week 1 at Falcons
  • Week 2 at Buccaneers
  • Week 3 vs. Cowboys
  • Week 4 vs. Rams

Last year the Dolphins played five preseason games due to their participation in the Hall of Fame Game. The additional preseason action didn't have a negative impact on the Dolphins, who started the regular season 3-0 in 2013.

The Dolphins must have another productive preseason this year. They will only leave the state of Florida once in the exhibition season to play Atlanta in the preseason opener.

Miami hasn't made the playoffs since 2008. In order to end that drought, the Dolphins, with the NFL's 12th-toughest strength of schedule, must get off to a fast start.
