Forbes: Dolphins are worth $1.3 billion

The value of the Miami Dolphins has held steady in recent years. According to Forbes magazine, the Dolphins are currently worth $1.3 billion.

The Dolphins are ranked 16th in total value. Current owner Stephen Ross bought the Dolphins for $1.1 billion in 2009. The Dolphins also got approval this year from Miami Dade-County to renovate Sun Life Stadium, which could increase the team's overall value.

Forbes' values on the other AFC East teams: the New England Patriots were No. 2 at $2.6 billion; the New York Jets were No. 6 at $1.8 billion, and the Buffalo Bills were No. 31 at $935 million.
