Previewing Dolphins in the Power Rankings
By James Walker
The Miami Dolphins improved to 3-0 and made a major statement with a win over the Atlanta Falcons. Miami beat a playoff team from 2012 for the second week in a row in exciting fashion by scoring the game-winning touchdown with 38 seconds remaining.
How will this impact the Dolphins in ESPN.com NFL Power Rankings?
ESPN.com’s panel moved Miami up from five spots last week to No. 12 after beating the Indianapolis Colts on the road. Can the Dolphins make a similar jump and get into the top 10 after beating the Falcons?

Before I go, here are my AFC East Power Rankings entering Week 4:
1. New England Patriots (3-0): Picked up a convincing win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite injuries to players such as Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola. Like previous years, New England most likely will hit its stride in the second half of the season.
2. Miami Dolphins (3-0): Gaining maturity and league-wide respect with each victory. Second-year quarterback Ryan Tannehill’s growth is putting the team on the map.
3. New York Jets (2-1): Rookie quarterback Geno Smith is giving the Jets’ offense some life. The only loss so far was a close one to the Patriots.
4. Buffalo Bills (1-2): Tailback C.J. Spiller is not having the year many expected and now he’s injured again. Buffalo already has two division losses.
