By the numbers: Dolphins' struggles
By James Walker
The Miami Dolphins (3-4) are in the midst of a season-high four-game losing streak.
Here are some numbers to explain Miami’s struggles:
10: The amount of turnovers quarterback Ryan Tannehill has in his last four games. He’s thrown seven interceptions and lost three fumbles.
54-31: The Dolphins have shown poor halftime adjustments. They’ve been outscored by 23 total points in the third quarter this season.
32: The amount of quarterback sacks Miami allowed in seven games. Tannehill has been sacked at least four times in every game but one this year.
2.5: Miami Pro Bowl defensive end Cameron Wake’s sack total. He had 15 sacks in 2012.
4: Dolphins rookie kicker Caleb Sturgis has missed four of his last five field goal attempts. Nearly all of these kicks were in key moments.
109.9: Miami’s run defense has surprisingly struggled, particularly late in games. The Dolphins are ranked 19th in stopping the run.
79.5: Tannehill’s passer rating has dipped under 80.0 for the first time this year. Tannehill was over 90.0 in passer rating during Miami’s 3-0 start.
