Dolphins practice notes: John Jerry update
By James Walker
DAVIE, Fla. -- The Miami Dolphins are completing their final preparations for Sunday's game at the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Here are some notes and observations from Friday's practice:
- Dolphins starting guard John Jerry returned to practice after missing Wednesday’s session with a concussion. He did individual drills and was at least limited in the portion open to the media. Jerry’s status could be a game-time decision Sunday in Pittsburgh. If Jerry cannot play, backup guard Sam Brenner will take his place.
- Miami starting cornerback Dimitri Patterson also took part in individual drills and was at least limited in the portion open to the media. Patterson missed the past two games with a groin injury. Patterson worked a lot in the early part of practice on his backpedaling and cutting.
- Dolphins rookie cornerback Jamar Taylor (hamstring) was present Friday but worked on the side with a trainer. Taylor hasn't practiced all week and isn't expected to play on Sunday.
