Miami morning take: Dolphins' special teams
By James Walker
Here are the most interesting Miami Dolphins stories Wednesday from around the web:
Morning take: The punt- and kickoff-coverage teams need some work, but it was only the first game. It’s too early to tell how good or bad this season's group is.
- The Dolphins were not pleased with their kick-return coverage, reports Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.
Morning take: Tuesday is the usual day off in the NFL. Philbin is trying something different to get his team rest before Sunday’s game. The Dolphins are 1-0 so far. A loss Sunday in Indianapolis could change things.
- Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post writes that ex-NFL coaches question if Dolphins coach Joe Philbin is doing the right thing by taking Thursdays off.
Morning take: This group includes pass-rushers Dion Jordan, Olivier Vernon and Cameron Wake. That’s a lot of tough players to block at one time on obvious passing downs -- and a problem for quarterbacks.
Morning take: Misi received an extension through 2017, which locks up Miami’s linebackers for the foreseeable future. Misi is a former second-round pick who has yet to reach his full potential.
