Sanford was questionable for the Vikings' game against Green Bay on Oct. 27 with an ankle injury (he ended up playing), but his absences this season have been because of a groin injury. His status for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens is uncertain, but if Sanford were to miss the game, his absence would continue the theme of injuries in the Vikings' secondary that has persisted throughout the year. Starting safety Harrison Smith and cornerback Josh Robinson are both out this week because of injuries, and cornerback Chris Cook has also missed time this season.
In other Vikings injury news:
Running back Adrian Peterson (groin) did not participate, which shouldn't be a surprise; the Vikings have been holding Peterson out of practice to rest him the last several weeks, before giving him two of his three biggest career workloads, in terms of carries, over the last two weeks.
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings practiced without safety Jamarca Sanford, who has already missed three games this season and sat out Wednesday because of an ankle injury.
