What the Vikings can expect in the draft

MINNEAPOLIS -- A month from today, the Minnesota Vikings will make the first of their eight picks in the 2014 NFL draft, and now that the entire draft order for the three-day selection meeting has been set, we can take a closer look at what kinds of players the Vikings can expect to get in rounds one through seven, historically speaking.

Here are the players who have been selected in each of the last five years at the Vikings' eight spots -- Nos. 8, 40, 72, 96, 108, 148, 184 and 223 overall:

First round: No. 8 overall
Second round: No. 40 overall
Third round: No. 72 overall
Third round: No. 96 overall
Fourth round: No. 108 overall
Fifth round: No. 148 overall
Sixth round: No. 184 overall
Seventh round: No. 223 overall
