EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Vikings rewarded safety Andrew Sendejo, one of their key contributors on special teams, with a contract extension, his agent Erik Burkhardt announced on Twitter this afternoon.
Sendejo, who was due to become a restricted free agent after the season, will reportedly earn $2 million over the next two seasons, with $400,000 guaranteed.
The fourth-year safety played 13 games for the Vikings last year, and made the team out of training camp largely because of his role on special teams. He has not played a defensive snap yet this year, but is one of the three Vikings players (along with Larry Dean and Robert Blanton) who sees the most work on the Vikings' kickoff and punt teams.
