The California State Athletic Commission has reported four Bellator MMA athletes failed post-fight drug tests at an event on Oct. 3 in Temecula, Calif.
Bantamweight Rob Emerson tested positive for the psychoactive drug Modafinil. Welterweight Fernando Gonzalez tested positive for marijuana. Light heavyweight Nick Moghaddam and middleweight Keith Berry were each flagged for elevated testosterone-to-epitestosterone ratios and marijuana.
Bellator officials released a statement on the positive tests on Friday.
"I want to make very clear that under new management, Bellator will simply not stand for performance-enhancing drugs inside our cage," stated president Scott Coker. "We fully support the CSAC in their process and standby any disciplinary action handed out by commissioner Andy Foster."
In addition to potential fines and suspensions, Gonzalez and Berry (16-13) face the possibility of their respective wins on Oct. 3 changing to a no-contest.
Emerson (17-11) and Moghaddam (6-8) each suffered a loss on the card. Those results would stand.
