DJ Steve Porter is at it again. Leading up to the fight that we have all been waiting for, the world renowned DJ has teamed up with ESPN to produce his latest video mash-up, “Fight Of The Century” featuring First Take’s Stephen A. Smith, Skip Bayless and Cari Champion.
Tomorrow, the undefeated Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather, Jr. steps into the ring with the eight-division world champion, Manny Pacquiao, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. DJ Steve Porter is one of the millions who will be tuned in. “I’m a sucker for the underdog,” says Porter, “It would be awesome if Pacquiao won.”
This isn’t the first video mash-up you’ve seen on ESPN by the 2x Webby Award winning DJ. “Press Hop 2,” “So Disrespectful” and “All He Does Is Win”, to name a few, have contributed to the more than 37 Million YouTube views of DJ Steve Porter’s video mash-ups.
When producing “Fight Of The Century”, Porter made sure to draw upon the dramatic, anthemic vibe of the event saying he “wanted an even balance between the two viewpoints of Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless.” Porter continued, “There’s no better sound bites then those two guys. They’re like rappers, but they’re analysts. They sound great over drums.”
So what’s next for the international DJ and ESPN? “I’d love to have a good run with NBA Countdown. I love mixing up basketball bites” said DJ Steve Porter.
