Texas Tech is bringing one of its legends back to campus.
Former quarterback turned coach Kliff Kingsbury has been hired as the Red Raiders new coach, athletic director Kirby Hocutt announced in a video released on Twitter Wednesday evening. He'll replace Tommy Tuberville, who abruptly left for Cincinnati on Saturday.
Kingsbury, 33, was Texas A&M's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He instructed Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel this season.
Kingsbury was co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Houston and record-breaking QB Case Keenum in 2010-11.
Stay tuned. Lots more to come on the blog.
