MORGANTOWN, W. Va. -- It was a fitting end to the first half for UConn. With the Huskies trailing 14-10, Kashif Moore scored on a 17-yard touchdown pass from Cody Endres. It was Moore who held Jasper Howard in his final hours, as Howard lay wounded outside the student union in the early hours of last Sunday morning.

As he left the field at halftime, a big smile crossed Moore’s face, where Howard’s No. 6 was clearly visible in his eye black.

Randy Edsell credited his players’ determination for their first half showing, saying, “We’re playing every play like it’s the last play we’re ever going to play. I think there’s some motivation because of Jazz, too.”
