Boise State defense: Forced six Hawaii turnovers that turned into 30 points during a 54-9 rout of the Warriors. Jeron Johnson, who intercepted two passes and recovered a fumble on Hawaii's opening drive, led the Broncos.
Cory Sykes, RB, Ball State: Had 23 carries for 203 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winning score with 1:47 remaining, to give the Cardinals their first win of the season.
Kent State defense: Held Ohio to minus-9 yards rushing and 164 yards of total offense while recording seven sacks, 15 tackles for loss, and intercepting three passes in a 20-11 win. Kent State hasn’t allow an offensive touchdown in two straight games.
Navy: Defeated Wake Forest 13-10 with its backup quarterback in a torrential downpour to earn a fifth consecutive win, which is the team’s longest streak since starting 5-0 in 2004.
TCU defense: Held BYU held to just 188 yards in the air, sacked quarterback Max Hall four times and forced two turnovers. BYU’s 298 yards of total offense was the lowest for the Cougars all season.
Southern Miss defense: Sacked Tulane quarterback Ryan Griffin six times and forced four turnovers, including a fumble that was returned 15 yards for a touchdown by defensive back Jamie Collins.
MiQuale Lewis, RB, Ball State: Rushed for a career-high 301 yards and a touchdown in a 29-27 win over Eastern Michigan.
Ryan Lindley, QB, San Diego State: Completed 29 of 43 passes for a career-high 459 yards and six touchdowns in a 42-28 win over Colorado State.
Dwight Dasher, QB, Middle Tennessee: Accounted for 421 of the Blue Raiders’ 646 total offensive yards in the 62-24 win over Western Kentucky. He completed 22 of 35 passes for a career-best 355 yards and three touchdowns and added two more scores on the ground.
Levi Brown, QB, Troy: Threw for a school-record 469 yards in a 50-26 win over North Texas.
DeMarco Sampson, WR, San Diego State: Had 15 catches for 257 yards in a win over Colorado State to notch the ninth-best receiving performance in San Diego State history.
HONORABLE MENTION
Nevada O-line: Helped Nevada rush for 484 yards, including 230 and four touchdowns by quarterback Colin Kaepernick, in a 70-45 win over Idaho.
Ryan Mathews, RB, Fresno State: Had 25 carries for 157 yards and two touchdowns to notch his seventh consecutive game of 100 or more yards.
John Potter, K, Western Michigan: Kicked a 28-yard field goal in overtime to give the Broncos a 34-31 win over Buffalo.
Donald Buckram, RB, UTEP: Rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score, in a 28-24 upset win against Tulsa.
A.J. Guyton, WR, Central Florida: Had four catches for 113 yards and threw a touchdown pass in the Knights' 49-7 win over Rice.
C.J. Cavness, LB, Houston: Recovered two fumbles, including one at the Houston 2-yard line to help the Cougars to a 38-15 win over SMU.
Rusty Smith, QB, Florida Atlantic: Passed for a season-high 359 yards and four touchdowns in a 51-29 win over Louisiana-Lafayette.
Tyron Carrier, WR, Houston: Returned the second-half kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown against SMU for his second career kick return for a score.
Bernard Pierce, RB, Temple: Had 40 carries for 212 yards in a 40-24 win against Toledo to give the Owls sole possession of first place in the MAC East
Ike Nduka, RB, Buffalo: Rushed for 172 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-31 overtime loss to Western Michigan despite playing on a bad ankle.
Jake Coffman, DL, Northern Illinois: Started at noseguard in place of injured starter Brian Lawson and had 2.5 sacks, three tackles for loss and a pass batted down and five tackles in a win over Miami (Ohio).
Nick Bellore, LB, Central Michigan: Had a game-high 13 tackles and forced a key fumble on the CMU 14-yard line while Bowling Green was driving for the game-tying score.
Freddie Barnes, WR, Bowling Green: Had 14 catches for 172 yards and a touchdown in a 24-10 loss to Central Michigan.
Stevenson Sylvester, LB, Utah: Stopped Air Force quarterback Connor Dietz on a fourth-down play in overtime to preserve a 23-16 win.
