Navy junior quarterback Ricky Dobbs won’t play against Temple this weekend, but will dress, according to coach Ken Niumatalolo.
Dobbs practiced Wednesday, throwing passes with teammates, but didn’t participate in any drills that involved running. Dobbs, who wore knee pads Wednesday, is still recovering from a stress fracture in his kneecap that he aggravated two against SMU.
"He's got some knee pads on, and he looks kind of like Patrick Ewing," Niumatalolo told local media. "It was good to see him out there in green and see him out there throwing the football. You always get tempted to make him do more, but we just got to be smart."
Sophomore Kriss Proctor will make his second career start this weekend. He helped Navy defeat Wake Forest last week. Sophomore Mike Stukel will be the team’s backup.
