Bob Stoops might be receiving a box of cigars from one of the men who used to coach him at Iowa.
Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz owes Stoops a big debt of gratitude after Stoops' Oklahoma Sooners thumped Oklahoma State on Saturday to knock the Cowboys out of the BCS at-large mix. With Oklahoma State essentially eliminated, the Big Ten is in excellent shape to send two teams to BCS bowls for the fifth consecutive year. Either Iowa or Penn State will be the lucky recipient, and the Hawkeyes seem positioned very well for the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.
As long as Texas doesn't stumble against Nebraska in the Big 12 championship game, I see no way the Big Ten doesn't get two BCS berths.
