Five quarterbacks from the nonautomatic qualifying schools have been named finalists for the Manning Award.

Houston’s Case Keenum, TCU’s Andy Dalton, BYU’s Max Hall, Central Michigan’s Dan LeFevour and Boise State’s Kellen Moore are all on the 10-player finalists ballot. They join Notre Dame’s Jimmy Clausen, Arkansas’ Ryan Mallett, Texas’ Colt McCoy, Cincinnati’s Tony Pike and Florida’s Tim Tebow.

The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in honor of the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that takes into consideration the candidates’ bowl performances.

The winner will be announced after the bowls in January and will be honored at a banquet in New Orleans.

Keenum, who leads the nation in total offense, also is a finalist for the Davey O’Brien Award, which is handed out annually to the nation’s best quarterback.

LeFevour is a finalist for the Unitas Golden Arm Award, which is given to a senior quarterback who exemplifies not only talent on the field, but character off of it.
