Boise State has lost defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox.

ESPN's Wendy Nix just reported that Wilcox is on his way to Tennessee, and the school will introduce him as the new defensive coordinator later this afternoon.

Wilcox is expected to be on campus in less than an hour.

This is a huge blow to Boise State, which looked like it was going to escape another offseason without any coaching turnover. Wilcox was a finalist for the Texas A&M defensive coordinator position before withdrawing his name.

The Broncos ranked 14th in the country in total defense and scoring defense in 2009 and Wilcox has led Boise State to the WAC’s best defense in each of his four seasons as coordinator.

I’ll have more on this development after Tennessee makes its official announcement.
