BYU Cougars and Oregon State Beavers have agreed to a home-and-home football series for the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

The two schools will meet on Sept. 3, 2011, in Corvallis, Ore., and on Sept. 1, 2012, in Provo, Utah.

“We are excited about this series with Oregon State,” BYU athletic director Tom Holmoe said. “Both teams have tremendous coaches who have enjoyed a lot of success. The two-game series should be very entertaining.”

BYU coach Bronco Medenhall played defensive back at Oregon State from 1986-87 and was on the team the last time the two schools met in a regular-season game back in 1986. Oregon State defeated BYU 10-7 at Cougar Stadium.

BYU and Oregon State have faced each other nine times sine 1955 with the Beavers holding a 5-4 advantage.

The last meeting was at the 2009 Maaco Bowl Las Vegas where the Cougars won 44-20.
