COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The first quarter displayed a strong start by BYU, the team's first strong start against a quality opponent since prior to the TCU game.
Quarterback Max Hall has been perfect so far, completing all nine of his passes for 97 yards. The BYU offensive line has done a great job of giving Hall time to pick and choose his targets. And when Hall isn't completing passes, running back Fui Vakapuna and Harvey Unga are shredding the normally tight Air Force defense on the ground.
Air Force hasn't been able to get much going on offense, though the Falcons have almost broken a couple runs. They're going to have to diversify a little bit, maybe take a few more runs to the outside, because BYU is stacking the box making running up the middle a little tough.
