MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Much of the Miami Hurricanes' season is riding on the arm of quarterback Jacory Harris. So far, he has delivered against Florida A&M.

Yes, we realize the Rattlers are inferior competition. But Harris has been on point with nearly all of his throws. You would never know he had surgery on his right thumb that limited him for a part of the offseason. He threw touchdown passes to Leonard Hankerson on the first two drives. The second touchdown was pretty -- 40-yards, across the middle to his wide open receiver.

The third touchdown of the first half went 37 yards to Damien Berry, another one down the middle. Harris did have one silly throw he never should have made that should have been intercepted. He was lucky that it wasn't. Those are the type of cringe-worthy passes 'Canes fans came to hate last season from Harris.

But for the most part, he has looked good. He hasn't had to scramble much, and hasn't been pressured much. He has been able to sit back in the pocket and find his open players. Aldarius Johnson has also been a frequent target in the first half.

The defense has been tested some. It is going to have to start tackling better before the Ohio State game. At one point, FAMU was able to drive down to the Miami 19 yard line before stopping the Rattlers. Florida A&M missed a field goal to end the drive.
