NORMAN, Okla. -- The stands are empty at Owen Field two hours before kickoff, but thousands of fans are huddled outside the stadium waiting for their chance to enter the Texas Tech-Oklahoma game here.

I noticed a surprising number of Texas Tech fans on my way to the stadium, along with a variety of Oklahoma fans. Both sides have appropriate t-shirts slurring their opponents. It's like any other rivalry game in the Big 12, I guess.

It should be an ideal night for football. It's crisp and cool with a noticeable breeze that might become a factor in the kicking game as the night continues.

Neither team has hit the field yet for pre-game warmups. But that's only a few minutes away from happening.

I'll be back in a few minutes to break down the matchup and share a few other tidbits shortly before kickoff.
