Predictions: ACC | Big 12 | Big East | Big Ten | Pac-10 | SEC | Non-AQ

Clearly, I was not ready for conference play. I went 0-2 on the two Big East games last week, which would put me last in the standings. Time to make a comeback this week.

Thursday

West Virginia 23, South Florida 13: The Mountaineers haven't scored much against South Florida over the years, but this is a different kind of offense that I think will find some success. I have little confidence in the Bulls' ability to move the ball against the Big East's best defense on the road less than a week after they couldn't score an offensive touchdown against Syracuse.

Friday

Cincinnati 31, Louisville 23: The Cardinals are coming into this game on a little bit of a roll, but Cincinnati will be a whole lot tougher than Arkansas State and Memphis. Despite last week's shutout, Louisville is still shaky on defense, and Zach Collaros and Isaiah Pead will help exploit that. The Cardinals make this one interesting, but the Keg of Nails stays in Cincinnati.

Saturday

Pittsburgh 17, Syracuse 14: This is my game of the week. Check my video post later this afternoon for a full explanation of this pick.

Rutgers 24, Army 21: The Black Knights just beat the same Tulane team that took down Rutgers by 18 points on the road, so this is no gimme. But I think the Scarlet Knights may have turned a corner offensively last week against Connecticut and will be solid enough against the run to slow down Army's unusual triple option. Chas Dodd adds to his burgeoning legend in New Meadowlands Stadium.

Last week: 4-2

Season results: 32-7 (82.1 percent)
