There are a few things that would be easier right now than projecting the Big East bowl picture. Coming up with a workable Middle East peace plan, for example, or fixing the economy.
Everybody has at least two losses and six teams are either 4-3 or 3-4. Just predicting who will get to seven wins and guarantee themselves a bowl spot is hard enough.
The one bit of good news for the league is that I'm now projecting the Champs Sports Bowl back in the Big East corner after Notre Dame lost to Navy to fall to 4-4. The Irish have to go at least 7-5 to take that slot, and they still have to play Utah and USC.
I've also got a new BCS representative from the league this week. Here is a crack at deciphering this jumbled picture:
BCS (Fiesta): Pittsburgh
Champs Sports: West Virginia
Meineke Car Care: Rutgers
Birmingham: Louisville
New Era Pinstripe: Syracuse
Beef O'Brady's: Cincinnati
Home for the holidays: South Florida and UConn
