LINCOLN, Neb. -- A chilly morning is giving way to a gorgeous afternoon underneath a few light clouds here at Memorial Stadium. In short, it's a perfect day for football.
There's a lot on the line for both teams today; each squad's season will hinge on this one. The winner should be favored in four games heading into the Big 12 title game.
The loser has to wait for the other to lose; Missouri would have to lose three times for Nebraska to get in the title game. Not everyone will talk about it, but every player knows exactly what's on the line in this one.
"All the implications are right there. It’s all pretty obvious stuff," Missouri receiver T.J. Moe said this week. "You can’t count on anybody but yourself. If we win, we control our own destiny. That’s how it needs to be, and it needs to stay that way."
I'd expect both teams to play that way for 60 minutes today. Occasions are rare when both teams face must-win scenarios.
